I.  DESCRIPTION

• BHL Ultimately Simple (US) 1500 Electric Drawworks Rated at 1,000-1,500 HP, powered by two (2) DC electric drilling motors through a high capacity chain case and an Airflex Type VC ventilated clutch.



• The conventional drawworks band brakes is replaced by external water-cooled disc brakes. Twice the braking requirement is provided. The operating brakes and emergency/parking brakes are actuated by separate control valves and capable of holding the full rated load independently.



• The unit is very easily maintained, transported, and rigged-up.



• The fail safe emergency system consists of a spring-actuated, pneumatic pressure-released disc brake. The emergency system can be actuated by the operator or is automatically actuated should rig air failure occur.



• The brake control lever is console-mounted or flow-mounted in a conventional manner usually located at the driller's position on the drill floor, at the dog house, or anyhwere on the rig floor.



• The BHL US1500 Drawworks utilizes and Eaton/Airflex combination pressure-applied and spring-applied disc brakes.
